INSTRUCTIONS TO BOTH PROJECT MANAGERS AND INDIVIDUAL VIEWERS.

WHO WE ARE
Thank you for your participation in our remote viewing research project. This project is
sanctioned by the International Remote Viewing Association (www.IRVA.org) and was
awarded the Warcollier Research Prize by IRVA and IRIS. (One of the judges of this
award and project included Dean Radin). The results of this project will likely be
presented at the 2012 IRVA conference, located in Henderson, in June. The two
researchers on this particular project are Lance Beem (lancewilliambeem@aol.com)
and Debra Lynne Katz (debrakatz@yahoo.com), members of the Kari Beem Research
Foundation. Note: This project is a brand new research project unrelated to any of our
past projects.

WHY PARTICIPATE
The research design of our project requires us to utilize the skills and talents of
numerous remote viewers. The information gained in their sessions could have more
applications then just for this project and therefore we can assure those more
experienced viewers, who due to time constraints must be choosy about which projects
they accept, that this project is worth their time and energy. Since we donʼt want to front
load you more, we canʼt give out any other information.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS AND CONFIDENTIALITY
All viewers, with their approval, will be acknowledged in any write up or presentation of
this study as having participated. Viewers who do particularly well may be personally
acknowledged, with aspects of their sessions shown as examples in publications or
presentations, but only with their express permission. Otherwise, all viewers will remain
anonymous in terms of the strength or weakness of their sessions.

TWO VIEWINGS – ONE WITH NO FRONT LOADING, THE OTHER WITH IT.
Our project will require two separate viewings. The first will be done with absolutely no
front loading. This means viewers will not know the nature of the target. The target has
an important question(s) attached, so even if the viewer is not able to describe all
aspects of the target, it is likely some of the information gained will serve to shed light
on the research question. Every viewer who does the first target will then be given a
second target within a monthʼs time. This second target will have some front loading. If
you as a viewer are not sure you will have time to do both targets, we still encourage
you to do the first target. Just keep in mind that it will be very beneficial to the project,
and likely to you as a viewer, to do the second target as well.

HOW VIEWERS ARE CHOSEN
Since our project has minimal funding, and due to the level of enthusiasm in the remote
viewing community, we have decided to approach the selection of viewers and
collection of data in a couple different ways. There are some teachers/remote viewing
organization leaders/instructors who already have a base of viewers they work with on a
regular basis. Those leaders will be given these instructions and asked to present them
to their own groups, and then to collect all raw session data and turn into the
researchers. The researchers will also seek out individual remote viewers, both those
that they know to have a proven track record and some of their own students/colleagues
demonstrating high potential.

Given this method for selection, we have developed a self reporting questionnaire that
each viewer will need to fill out completely and through and submit with their sessions.
No sessions will be accepted without the questionnaire. This tool will help us to
evaluate a variety of factors, such as level of training, years of experience, methods
used, time spent on the session, etc. This data will help advance the field of remote
viewing in general and will also help us evaluate the data for our particular study.
You will find this questionnaire at the end of the instruction sheet.

TURNING IN RESULTS
Itʼs imperative that all raw data and summaries be turned into researchers. This can be
emailed or sent via snail mail. Remote viewers are or should be instructed to
DESCRIBE THE TARGET, leave nothing out, and sketch when ever possible.
Summaries are appreciated but all raw data will be closely evaluated within a session.
All pages of each viewers sessions must be scanned and included in one document per
viewer and emailed to researchers. Project Leaders who work with groups of viewers
should submit to researchers one file per viewer or can submit as a zip file. They can
also request the viewers to send documents directly to researchers. If a viewer doesnʼt
have the ability to scan and upload their session to a document that can then be
emailed, the viewer can make a copy of their session and mail it via snail mail to: Debra
Katz, PO BOX 292785, Phelan, CA., 92329. Again, the questionnaire must also be
included with every viewing.

TARGET NUMBERS: To avoid a phenomenon known as “stacking”, each viewer will be
given a separate, randomly generated target number. Group leaders will be given the
numbers to assign to their viewers, and individual viewers will be given their target
numbers by researchers. If you arenʼt sure of your target number, please get in touch
with your group leader or one of the researchers.

DUE DATES:
You will have 10 days to complete the viewing.
THE FIRST TARGET WILL BE SENT OUT ON Friday, February 10th, and we
need to get the results back by Sunday, February 19th, 2012.
THE SECOND TARGET WILL BE SENT OUT ON Friday, February 24th and
back to us by Sunday, March 4th.

We suggest you get started as soon as you have it, so if any additional information
comes to you, you can include it with your session. If you wait till the last minute you
may not have the adequate amount of time or focus. If you need an extra day to turn in
your findings, that will be OK, but understand we are on a tight time table ourselves as
there is a lot of work for us to do once we receive your session information. Prolonged
delayed receipt of sessions will delay the next steps in our study.

FEEDBACK: As viewers ourselves, we understand the importance and desire of getting
feedback. Therefore we will not only reveal the target to you, but we will evaluate your
session based on a standard rating scale and also on other factors we canʼt reveal yet.
In other words, we will give every single individual viewer notes. This is often
something you donʼt get from research but we feel it may actually help your session
itself and itʼs the least we can do given the time you will put into this. Initial feedback
(revealing the target and itʼs related questions) will be given sometime before June and
then you can expect your individual feedback anytime before July. Just be patient, as
this will require a lot of time on our part given the number of viewers we hope to have
participate.

METHODOLOGY
Viewers may utilize any method of remote viewing or psychic practice or combination
they choose. This is why itʼs imperative to include the questionnaire with your results,
so we will know what method you used. NOTE: For those of you trained in Controlled
Remote Viewing techniques, we would love for you to use this and stay within structure
as much as possible. This will ensure we have a decent pool of those using CRV and
can then compare this method to those using other methods. Please note: the
researchers believe all methods are valid and are not biased towards any method.
